Nidec Corporation (TSE: 6594; OTC US: NJDCY) (“Nidec”) today announced that it has started shipping (as the first company in the world to do so)* a CDU (Coolant Distribution Unit) as a new in-rack-type cooling solution for nextgeneration data centers. This latest product, jointly developed with Supermicro Computer Inc. (“Supermicro”), possesses a 4U-size, 250kW cooling capability, and meets the OCP (Open Compute Project) standard.
This CDU, which is capable of providing the cooling performance required for the NVL72 server system equipped with 36 units of GB200 (the latest GPU released by NVIDIA Corporation (“NVIDIA”)), realizes high-performance, highcomputing density server racks as a complete rack solution.
Our in-rack, high-performance CDUs contribute to Supermicro's dominance in the AI server market by enabling lowcost, short-term installation of NVIDIA NVL72 server systems in AI data center construction, thanks to their high space efficiency and installation flexibility.
As a thermal solution vendor, we are committed to helping our customers reduce their total cost of ownership (TCO) by providing a wide range of cooling solutions that meet the needs of the industry and promote the efficient operation of data centers.
In addition, we will continue to contribute to the realization of a convenient AI society and the preservation of the global environment by addressing the challenges of the recent increase in power consumption in data centers.
