Motor build
This is a casual term used to express the physical size, length to width ratio, power-to-weight ratio or other similar properties. The problems with shapes that are long but thin, or short but fat (i.e., pancake like), are matters for this category, as shown in fig (a). When we need to specify an accurate size, we refer to the diameter and length of the stator (Ds and Ls in figure (b)).
