Intermittent operation
Intermittent operation is an operation method which repeats the process of starting and stopping. The state of the voltage, current, and speed when driving an inertial load with a brushed DC motor are as shown in the figure below. The current and speed are determined by the electrical time constant, the mechanical time constant, and the counter-electromotive force constant. The photograph is an example of measurements (voltage and current) made using an oscilloscope.
