Δ(Delta) connections, Y connections, Star connections
The winding of a 3-phase motor is connected in either Δ(delta) or Y-configuration. When each phase consists of two or more coils, they can be connected in series or in parallel. Furthermore, the opposing two coils can be connected to produce the same polarity or opposite polarities. Some people callstar instead of Y(wye) when referring to connection configurations.
