Environmental & Product-making Classes

Nidec holds environmental and product-making classes at local elementary schools and other learning institutions to help deepen children’s interest in and understanding of the global environment and science.
Our environmental class for elementary school students, launched in the city of Kyoto in FY2007, has had its 18th anniversary in 2024. FY2023 saw us hold the class a total of six times for 305 elementary school students in Kyoto Prefecture. In the class, students are shown motors used in their everyday lives, learn, among others, how motors are related to electric energy, see a presentation of motors’ future that Nidec aims to realize, and think with Nidec employees what they can do to conserve the global environment. The students also see and touch Nidec’s motors to enhance their interest in them, and practice crafting motors to learn the fun of product making.
