History of NIDEC OKK CORPORATION

1915 Established in 1-60, Kamifukushima-kita, Kita-ku,Osaka under the name of Matsuda Seisakusho(capital¥500,000)to manufacture centrifugal pumps.
1917 Started to manufacture water meters for supply to Osaka City.
1919 Manufactured a silk spinning machine for supply to Kanebuchi, Ltd.
1920 Company name changed to Osaka Kikai Kosakusho Corporation.
1934 Started to manufacture machine tools in Toyosaki Factory.
1938 Company name changed to Osaka Kiko Co., Ltd.
1939 Built Inagawa Factory in Hyogo Prefecture to increase production capacity.
1951 Restarted the manufacture of machine tools which was stopped after World WarⅡ.
1953 Completed a high-speed gill for Toyobo Co., Ltd. to worsted and synthetic fibers.
1960 Completed an NC milling machine for supply to Shin Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.
1961 Signed a technical assistance contract with Ramo S.A. of France for OKK-RAMO brand machine tools.
1967 Developed and marketed the Turret Miller NC machining center.
1968 Developed and marketed a remote-controlled water meter for supply to Japan’s increasing numerous highrise apartment buildings.
1970 The 13th capital increase was implemented.(New capital increased to ¥3 billion.)
1974 Developed and started to sell a high-speed finisher which was displayed at the 3rd Japan International Textile Machine Exhibition.
1977 Developed the MCV-500 machining center.
1979 Signed a technology transfer contract with Chindasook Commercial Co., Ltd. of Thailand for the manufacture of the bottom case of our water meter.
1981 Shipped our 1,000th MCV-500 machining center.
1982 Developed and displayed a Flexible Manufacturing System at the 11th Japan International Machine Tool Show. Started to market a highly reputed FMS the same year.
1988 Signed a technical assistance contract with Samsung Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. for six different vertical and horizontal machining centers.
1989 Established a subsidiary in Thailand to procure cast iron, a major material for machine tools.
1990 The median price share issue was implemented.(New capital increased to ¥5,281,433,680.)
1991 Tokyo Technical Center completed.
1995 Established TIANJIN OKK MACHINERY CO., LTD., in China as an export foothold to increase our share of the Chinese market as well as the international market of textile machinery.
1998 Received order for 49 units of Horizontal Machining Center from automobile-parts manufacturer in North America.
1999 Certified according to ISO 9001.
2004 Moved the head office from Osaka City to Itami City in Hyogo Prefecture.
Issued the first debenture/convertible bond type corporate debentures with preemptive rights amounting to ¥1 billion.
2005 Technical Center completed.
2006 Established a machine tool sales office(OKK(Shanghai)Co., Ltd.)in China.
2007 Certified according to ISO 14001.
2010 Established a machine tool sales office(OKK CORPORATION SEOUL BRANCH)in Korea.
2012 Established a machine tool sales office(PT. OKK INDONESIA)in Indonesia.
2014 Completed new Plant M.
2015 100th Anniversary, Japanese company name changed to OKK Kabushiki-Kaisha.
2022 Became a group company of Nidec Corporation through a third-party allotment (new capital of 9,022,551,436 yen).
2022 Company name changed to Nidek OKK CORPORATION.
2023 Became a wholly owned subsidiary of Nidec Corporation through a share exchange.
