NIDEC DRIVE TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION was established in April 1952 in Kyoto as Japan's first "continuously variable transmission" manufacturer. Through our continued efforts to refine technology since our foundation, the company has established a world-leading position in the "traction technology area." We have won the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers Prize three times as well as a range of other invention awards that endorse the technological capacity of the company. Today, we operate in the global market for power transmission drives specializing in shimpo motors and high-precision automatic press machines along with measuring instruments and pottery equipment.
