Core, Iron core, Laminated core, Lamination
Laminations are the steel portions of the stator and rotor consisting of thin insulated laminated sheets of silicon steel stacked together. These laminations can be stacked loosely, welded, or bonded together. Another way of fastening is interlocking, as shown in the photos below.
