Concentrated winding
This is the type of winding in which basically a single coil is wound on each stator tooth as shown in (a) but a bifilar winding, shown in (b), for a stepping motor falls in this category. Various three-phase connections are used for brushless DC motors depending the combination of the number or stator slots and that of rotor’s magnetic poles. Two samples (c) and (d) are shown here.
